Leaf springs are widely used in automotive suspensions and mainly serve the following functions:
Connecting the axle to the frame: They bear the support force, traction force, braking force, and lateral force exerted by the axle on the frame, reducing the impact on the vehicle while driving.
Increasing load capacity: When the vehicle is fully loaded, the main and auxiliary leaf springs work together to enhance the load capacity of the main leaf spring.
Absorbing vibration and impact energy: Utilizing the elasticity of the springs to reduce the bumps of the vehicle, improving ride comfort.
